RAW Comedy winner Bec Melrose writes and performs comedy in the form of stand-up, storytelling, sketch and drag. Bec has written for ABC’s Tonightly with Tom Ballard and she is a member of Cleo & The Kweens, improvised comedy troupe Post-Its and has worked with sketch troupe The Kvetch Set Sketch Collective.

In 2019 she was selected to perform in the Comedy Zone program at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Bec has performed at Triple J’s Good Az Friday, Audible’s Comedy Up Late, Nova’s Hits & Giggles, Comedy Bites, Story Club, Secret Garden Festival and has opened for Wil Anderson. She has even appeared in a Jamster commercial, but it's Ibis who is the unlikely darling of the silver screen, managing to sneak onto Sunrise.

Bec plays Ibis in her comedy show Ibis: Your City, our Bins. The show chronicles the plight of ibises forcibly displaced from their homes during the building of Sydney Olympic Park. Ibis hopes by sharing its story, Sydneysiders will think twice about their much reviled bin birds.

Bec graduated from Improv Theatre Sydney in 2016 and has had the privilege of working with comedians and coaches from UCB, iO & Second City. In 2018, Bec was the national winner of RAW Comedy.

You can listen to Bec's performance of her story Your Totem Animal and Too Cute to Poop on the Story Club podcast and follow Ibis on Facebook.
